Embark on a divine mountaineering adventure to the loftiest summit in Greece, which also served as the dwelling place for the twelve gods of mythology. Prepare for a truly unique mission: to ascend to the glorious “throne of Zeus,” where you will find yourself overlooking the entire expanse of Greece! Your ultimate goal is to conquer this majestic peak.

Olympos, stretching across the prefectures of Pieria and Larissa in the southwest region of Macedonia, stands proudly like an immense tower soaring to a staggering height of 2,918 meters, unchallenged in its sovereignty. It is this very reason that prompted the Ancient Greeks to “bestow” their gods upon this magnificent mountain.

At the pinnacle of Greece lies Mytikas, a summit where only the birds dare to venture higher than its 2,918 meters. As you approach, Skolio, Stephani, Skala, and Prophet Elias emerge, forming a formidable mountain massif that punctures through the clouds, radiating a resplendent and commanding presence. In fact, one interpretation of the word “Olympos” from the Homeric era is “shining.”

Enveloped by the vast expanse of the sky’s azure hue, you will witness this breathtaking sight atop Mytikas, surrounded by the neighboring peaks mere meters away. Skolio, Stephani, Skala, and Prophet Elias unite, forming a compact range that illuminates the clouds with its magnificence.

What to Bring

• Shoes for hiking Ideal mountaineering boot or sneakers (No sandals).

• Water (1.5 liter minimum).

• A bag of about 20-30 liters.

• Hiking clothing (trousers and t-shirts).

• Warm clothing for the shelter.

• Lightweight windproof Jacket.

• Snack for hiking.

• Shoes or flip-flops for leisure.

• Small towel, shorts or leggings, hiking socks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.

• Baton (optional).

• Sleeping bag (mandatory for the shelter).

• Flashlight (optional).

• Mood for adventure.

• Guidance with an experienced guide – instructor (one guide per 4/5 persons).

• Transportation by company van from the meeting point (It is possible to pick up from the hotels and train stations in the area)

Itinerary

• DAY1: 09.00am Meeting and welcome in the central parking of Litochoro. Activity information and preparation, departure by car for the place Gorzia. Hiking from Gortsia to the Plateau of the Muses. Accommodation at the mountain refuge Kakkalos or Apostolidis (subject to availability). Duration 5-7 hours (depending on the capabilities of the team). Short stop for rest in the middle of the route at the mountain refuge of Petrostrouga.
• DAY2: Hiking from the mountain shelter to the top of Mytika 2918 meters, lasting 1.5 hours, there we will sign the book of climbers and we will rest for our return. Return to the position “Gortsia” lasting 5-7 hours (depending on the capabilities of the team). Short stop for rest in the middle of the route at the mountain refuge of Petrostrouga.

• Whenever you cancel 4 days or earlier than the confirmed activity starting date, your fee will be refunded for the entire activity charge.
• In case of cancellation within 48 and 96 hours before the scheduled activity starting date, you'll get 50% reimbursed.
• Those who cancel 48 hours or beyond are considered last-minute cancellations. There will be no refunds
