Located in the village of Agios Ioannis in the Almyros area, the Mavromatis canyon offers an exhilarating canyoning experience. Situated on Mount Othrys, known as the Mount of the Titans, this canyon is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
The descent begins above the village, just by the dam of an artificial lake, surrounded by a picturesque fir forest that instantly captivates with its enchanting beauty. As you embark on this thrilling journey, the canyon’s narrow walls and occasional darkness create an atmosphere of mystery and excitement. With each descent and the discovery of unique rocks in various shapes and colors, your day will be filled with unforgettable experiences.
Prepare to encounter a total of 13 waterfalls, the tallest reaching up to 22 meters in height.
