“Dive into the World of Underwater Exploration with PADI Open Water Diver Course

Embark on an incredible journey of scuba diving and unlock a whole new world beneath the waves. If you’ve always dreamt of becoming a certified diver, seeking thrilling adventures, or simply marveling at the wonders below, look no further than the PADI Open Water Diver course. As the world’s most popular scuba certification program, it has introduced millions of individuals to the exhilarating diving lifestyle.

Your scuba learning experience begins with convenient online modules, allowing you to grasp the fundamental principles of scuba diving. Once equipped with the knowledge, you’ll continue your education with Amorgos Diving, where expert instructors will guide you through the remaining stages.

Over a span of 4-5 days, depending on your schedule, you’ll have the opportunity to complete nine exhilarating dives. Initially, you’ll perform five dives in a controlled pool environment, mastering basic scuba skills. Subsequently, you’ll venture to breathtaking diving spots for four open water dives, where you’ll put your newfound skills to the test. Finally, a small exam awaits to assess your comprehension and grant you the well-deserved certification. With this achievement, you’ll be authorized to dive up to a depth of 18 meters, opening doors to thrilling underwater explorations.

What will you learn?

The PADI Open Water Diver course encompasses three key phases:

  1. Knowledge Development: Immerse yourself in the basics of scuba diving through online modules, home study materials, or interactive classroom sessions.
  2. Confined Water Dives: Dive into a controlled environment, such as a pool, to practice and refine essential scuba skills under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
  3. Open Water Dives: Apply your acquired skills and explore the underwater realm during supervised dives at local dive sites. If you’ve previously experienced diving through a Discover Scuba Diving program or resort course, certain skills learned can be credited toward your PADI Open Water Diver certification.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in the PADI Open Water Diver course, you must be at least 10 years old (additional registration steps apply for students under 13 years due to international internet laws).

The Fun Part:

What makes this course truly special is the sheer joy and excitement that accompanies learning to dive. Your first breath underwater is an unforgettable moment, marking the beginning of your journey towards becoming a certified diver. Throughout the course, you’ll partake in a minimum of five pool dives and four dives at local dive sites, all while under the expert guidance of your PADI Instructor.

Scuba Gear:

All the necessary scuba equipment will be provided for your training. You’ll utilize the essential gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy compensating jacket, scuba tank, regulator, and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply. Depending on weather conditions and water temperatures, you may also wear a scuba wetsuit or a weight system.

Learning Materials:

PADI offers a range of comprehensive learning materials for the Open Water Diver course. Opt for the convenience of eLearning, or choose a package that includes a book and DVD, or a multimedia DVD-ROM. The materials cover essential scuba diving skills, terminology, and safety procedures. Use them as a reference guide for future diving adventures and to reinforce your knowledge.

Dive Sites:

During the course, you’ll complete a total of nine dives, with five taking place in a pool or shallow shore and the remaining four at carefully selected diving sites suitable for beginners. Here are a few notable dive spots:

  1. Aegiali Bay: Dive from the shore of this beautiful sandy beach, offering warm waters and excellent visibility. Encounter a diverse array of marine life, including scorpionfish, hermit crabs, John Dorys, Octopi, rainbow wrasse, bream, and Triggerfish. Maximum depth: 6 meters.
  2. Agios Pavlos: Discover the charm of the “Caribbean Finger” bay, known for its picturesque beach and ideal conditions for inexperienced divers. The shallow part of the bay consists mainly of sand, providing an opportunity to familiarize yourself with diving equipment and the underwater environment. Explore intriguing landscapes formed by skirts and adorned with large black sponges, mermaid cups, and octopus gardens. Encounter cuttlefish, rainbow wrasse, and other curious fish. The bay’s location also shields it from strong currents and winds, ensuring a pleasant diving experience.
  3. Nikouria Caverns: Delight in the beauty of this captivating dive site, often referred to as a hidden gem. Suitable for divers of all levels, the open cavern showcases vibrant colors with walls adorned in bright purple, red, and yellow sponges, diverse corals, and fascinating marine life. Swim through the cavern to discover hidden treasures and encounter lobsters, scorpionfish, Damselfish, and bream. The abundance of Neptune grass surrounding the site attests to the pristine waters. Prepare for an adventurous dive experience.
