Experience the beauty of Crete with our accessible and exciting sea kayak tour. Whether you’re in Chania, Rethymno, or Heraklio, transportation is convenient, making it the perfect choice for kayakers of all levels. Discover remote beaches, impressive rocky formations, and hidden spots for thrilling cliff jumps. The area is known for its calm weather, making it an excellent option for beginners.

Paddling Distance:

The trip covers approximately 15 km, but it can be extended up to 21 km for those seeking more paddling excitement.

Equipment:

Choose between single or tandem kayaks based on your experience level. Tandem kayaks are recommended for beginners, while experienced paddlers can enjoy top-notch boats from renowned brands such as Nigel Dennis, Valley, North Shore, P&H, and 3kymia. Our trips primarily feature composite kayaks.

Wildlife:

Keep an eye out for sea turtles during our journey. Crete is home to the loggerhead sea turtle, and if we’re lucky, we may spot these incredible creatures along the way. The island’s nesting beaches, including Rethymno, Bay of Chania, and Bay of Messara, play a vital role in their conservation.

Trip Itinerary:

Upon meeting in Bali, we’ll provide a brief introduction to kayaking techniques and safety. We’ll ensure that your paddles, kayaks, and buoyancy aids are properly adjusted before setting off on our adventure. Depending on the conditions, we have two options: paddling towards the eastern or western part of Crete.

The western route, more suitable for experienced kayakers, offers breathtaking views and secluded pebble beaches. If we choose this option, please bring your own packed lunch, as there are no facilities along the way. We will notify you via email if this applies to your trip.

Generally, the weather remains calm until late May or early June. We recommend avoiding July and August when the “Meltemi” wind blows strongly.

Transportation:

We offer complimentary pick-up from Heraklion, and in some cases, we can arrange pickups from other locations along our route. Please provide us with the exact location of your hotel to ensure a smooth transfer. Transportation is free of charge. If you’re in Chania or Rethymno, you can reach the starting point by bus or taxi, with travel times of approximately one hour and fifteen minutes from Chania, 30 minutes from Rethymno, and 45 minutes from Heraklion.

What to Bring

• If you don’t want to have lunch in the taverna be sure you pack your lunch.

• Water, Sunglasses, Hat, Sunscreen, Swimsuit, Lycra shirt or any t-shirt ideally with UV protection.

• You will also need shoes that you do not mind getting soaked as you will get your feet wet.

• Ideally a light neoprene shoe will work great.

• It is not required to wear shoes but they will help as the majority of the beaches are with small pebbles.

Cancellation Policy - Flexible

• Whenever you cancel 4 days or earlier than the confirmed activity starting date, your fee will be refunded for the entire activity charge.
• In case of cancellation within 48 and 96 hours before the scheduled activity starting date, you'll get 50% reimbursed.
• Those who cancel 48 hours or beyond are considered last-minute cancellations. There will be no refunds
