Be the first to review “Sea Kayak in Istron”
This sea kayak tour is easily accessible for those staying in eastern Crete, near Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. It provides a more sheltered experience with minimal exposure to winds and waves, making it an ideal choice for non-experienced paddlers.
Here are the details of the trip:
Depending on the weather conditions and the experience level of the group, we will paddle either northwest towards the town of Agios Nikolaos or southeast towards the charming fishing village of Pachia Ammos. During the trip, we can stop for lunch at a local taverna, or you can bring your own packed lunch.
There will be plenty of opportunities for swimming and snorkeling along the way. The paddling distance is approximately 15-18km in either direction, but it can be adjusted to accommodate the preferences and needs of the group.
The suitable seasons for this tour are from January to June and from September to December. It is advisable to avoid July and August due to increased windiness in the area.
For convenience, we offer pick-up services from Heraklion town and Ammoudara. If you have any uncertainties about how to get to the starting point, please feel free to contact us.
Water ,Sunglasses, Hat, Sunscreen, Swimsuit, Lycra shirt or any t-shirt ideally with UV protection.
You will also need shoes that you do not mind getting soaked as you will get your feet wet.
Ideally a light neoprene shoe will work great.
It is not required to wear shoes but they will help as the majority of the beaches are with small pebbles.
If you don’t want to have lunch in the taverna be sure you pack your lunch.
